Stefano Macrì

Stefano Cinque was born in Naples in 1971. Since he was a child, thanks to the supervision of his paternal grandfather, he loved Neapolitan traditions and legends, becoming passionate about art and even more about craftsmanship. Hence a long journey through his different expressions, representing the cultural heritage on which he laid the foundations for his 30 years of activity.

Naturally, in his studies he followed his vocation and art made his life. His name is S. Macrì, but it could be read as “passion, art and a lot of research”. A surprising mix that shapes exclusive creations.

Over time, his ceramic sculptures have become paintings:  modelled and then painted, following the hands that sink into the clay and then dive into the colours. In 2020 he approaches Pop Art, following another of his youthful passions: comics, an expression of our society and pop culture.

For S. Macrì, imagination is expressed through craftsmanship becoming design. In his laboratory he maintains a respectful approach to the techniques and tradition that he loves so much, modelling clay rather than more modern things, protecting a material and a technique that he does not want to be lost.

Macrì is also the brand founded by Stefano in 2010, his company where he designs and creates artefacts inspired by Neapolitan history, very different processes that have a single common thread: "let the Art travel". A project literally born at school, at the Art Institute. Here Stefano and Fanny, "parents" of the brand, met and began to share their passions and love for beauty.

From their union, not only artistic, Matteo and Cristina, MA-CRÍ was born.
